39% Want Bush Impeached VS 32% for Clinton in '99
According to an InsiderAdvantage poll that was "weighted for age, race, gender, and political affiliation," 39% of those polled favor impeachment:
"Would you favor or oppose the impeachment by Congress of President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney?"
Favor: 39%
Oppose: 55 %
Undecided/Don't Know: 6%
On the high side, a live poll at MSNBC shows an astounding 88% in favor of impeachment!
The significance of these numbers really stands out when compared to similar polls during the later years of the Clinton administration. Seventy percent of Americans did not want Clinton impeached in 1998, and 63% in 1999. The opposition to the prospect of Bush's impeachment is clearly lower, while the percentage of those in favor is slightly higher.
In June of 2005, 42% favored impeachment if it was found that Bush misled the nation to go to war with Iraq - which he did. Fifty-two percent favored impeachment in 2006 if it was found that the Bush administration illegally wiretapped US citizens - which they did. Note that the current 39% figure is unconditional.
This is clearly a mainstream point of view, no matter how adamantly neo-conservatives spout on about "fringe radicals." The movement is growing.

39%! And that's WITHOUT the press echo chamber that was blasting away when the scums were after Clinton.
If it's 39% now, imagine how high it would be if this issue were ever given prime-time discussion.
Absolutely.
