A federal appeals court has ruled that American Citizens cannot be held indefinitely without charge under the Military Commissions Act. ( more ) ( even more )

Defense Secretary Gates has replaced General Peter Pace as chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff with Admiral Mike Mullen.

A new intelligence report indicates that troop escalation in Iraq is unlikely to affect the level of violence.

Gen. Colin Powell says the US should close Guantanamo now and move the detainees into our legal system where they will have habeas corpus and fair trails.

Senator Reid says an attack on Iran would further destabilize the middle east and that our efforts should be diplomatic in nature.
