Disgraceful Coverage Of Ron Paul's Presidential Bid

As of today, January 19th 2008, Ron Paul has beaten Rudy Giuliani in 4 primaries/caucuses, he's beaten Fred Thompson in 3 and has taken 2nd place in Nevada, ahead of John McCain and Mike Huckabee. He has amassed a total of about 106,000 votes thus far and has raked in $1.35 million in donations already this month.

With this in mind, consider the following:

This graphic was on screen sporadically over the course of an hour. Huckabee is not a representative, nor was he ever in second place in Nevada; in fact, he barely edged out Thompson for fourth. Obviously, the graphic should read Rep. Paul.

First of all, naming a winner with less than 1% of precincts reporting is absurd, despite the fact that they happen to be correct this time. More importantly, you'll notice that Mike Huckabee with 8% receives notice over Ron Paul with 14%. Later during the clip, Paul moves into 2nd place with 16%, but McCain and Huckabee are again given notice over Paul.

Notice the South Carolina stats in the lower left corner of this Fox News graphic. At 43% reporting, Ron Paul was a few thousand votes ahead of Giuliani, but here they have "accidentally" switched places.

This is The New York Times "election guide," but they seem to be missing several candidates from both parties(Gravel etc.) - even though some have delegates (Paul, Kucinich, Hunter). Update - The Times has recently replaced Giuliani with Paul; while this is good news for Paul, censorship of any candidate (no matter how terrible..) is wrong. All candidates should be accounted for.

Further, here is an article from a man who claims to have watched the primary/caucus coverage for 3 hours today (mostly MSNBC) without ever hearing a single mention of Ron Paul.

Next we have ABC News affiliate KLAS 13 reporting approximately six hours after all Nevada precincts had closed that John McCain came in second and Ron Paul in third, despite the fact that their own graphic shows Dr. Paul's lead over McCain.

Last but certainly not least, an MSNBC correspondent says on national television that Dr. Paul represents the "Al-Qaeda wing of the Republican Party."

Gathering money on the internet is easy.

Sitting around bitching is easy.

Ron Paul supporters need to do traditional organizing as well.

Get out, go convince people that they need to be aware.

Want to do something with the internet... START FLASH MOBS. Get as many supporters gathered around events, stations and people responsible that there will have to be coverage.

Beg to be heard and shout out the truth.

Just don't limit it to the internet, where you will be tagged as crazies and unimportant.

Spread the word.

Good luck.

The BBC is guilty of this too:

Don, we're doing that. I've been on marches, sign waves, and canvassed neighborhoods. I've handed out flyers at NFL games. We've funded planes flying banners over NASCAR events, and a goodyear-size blimp. You don't know about all this, because the media doesn't cover it. The weekend we're finding that the many media outlets are willing to go as far as lie about election results. The more real support Ron Paul gets, the more they shut him out.
